The following are short bios on our staff:

Greg James, President
Greg is a Kansas native and graduate of the University of Kansas. After 34 years in the pharmaceutical industry, 28 of those at Eli Lilly and Company, his career allowed the James family to call 2 other countries and 6 states home before they returned to Indiana for the third time. “We are proud to finally call Indianapolis home!” He comes to NCF Indiana after 4 years working with the Relationship teams across the NCF network. Greg uses his business experience in sales, marketing and general management along with his coaching skills and spiritual gifts to work alongside others to inspire biblical generosity. Greg and his wife, Jenn are excited to be back in the same town with their 2 married children and 3 “grandboys”. Other than spending time at NCF and with the family, he likes to cook, bike or run and occasionally find time to “wet a line with a fly rod”.

Gary Martin

Gary Martin, Vice President
Gary grew up in Indiana and attended Purdue University where he received a BS in Electrical Engineering. After graduating and marrying Kathy, he began working for General Electric in Fort Wayne. That career spanned 30 years and took the Martin family to several locations in Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Tennessee. In 1998 Gary retired from GE to pursue another season of life in ministry.

Since leaving GE, his focus has been on activities at his local church in Fort Wayne as well as serving as Treasurer of Developing and Shepherding International and a Seminar Instructor with Crown Financial Ministries since 2004. Responding to a local movement of generosity, Gary began exploring affiliation with National Christian Foundation in 2009 and joined NCF Indiana in May 2011 to serve generous givers in Northeast Indiana.

When not doing the Kingdom work just described, Gary can be found playing golf, rooting for Boilermaker football and basketball and enjoying the company of his family which now numbers 4 adult children, their spouses and 12 grandchildren.

Travis Gabbard, Relationship Manager

Travis is an Ohio native and graduate of Cincinnati Christian University, and University of Dayton, receiving both a BS in Biblical Studies, and MA in Public Administration. After graduation, he served as a Program Officer for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Dayton, Ohio before he and his family moved to Indianapolis. Since that time, he’s worked with Christian Missionary Fellowship International as Director of Ministry Advancement and most recently serving as Director of Strategic Partnerships with Traders Point Christian Church.

Through each of these experiences, Travis developed skills in relationship building, strategic mobilization, and organization advancement. However, more importantly, he developed both an appreciation and affection for building relationships with people and the causes they care about while advancing the Kingdom! He’s continued to steward these passions by completing several certifications offered by the IU School of Philanthropy.

Travis is married to his wife, Tara, since 2009 and they have two children, Taft (5) Tula Kate (2), and will welcome their third child in October.

Travis values close relationships, so he’s happiest when surrounded by family and friends, no matter the activity. He enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and rooting for his favorite sports teams, which include the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Brown (not sure why) and Michigan State Spartans!

Anna Campbell, Director of Giver Services
Originally from the Chicago area, Anna moved to Indianapolis in 2011 to complete her degree in Tourism, Convention, and Event Management from IUPUI. She recently left the retail management field for NCF and a work life balance more conducive to a young family and a focus on the Kingdom.

She and her husband Jonathan live in Westfield and are enjoying the sweet chaos of navigating parenthood to sassy 2 year old Cadence and joyful 4 month old Elora. It helps when you have Grandma Jill (Kendrat) nearby! Anna and her family attend Northview Church in Westfield and love the support, encouragement, and community they’ve found there.

Anna is happiest when she is surrounded by the people she loves, so there is hardly a weekend without a cook out or a get together at the Campbell house. Reading and traveling are some things Anna enjoys and hopes to one day do again…maybe when the kids go to college?

Jill Kendrat   Jill Kendrat, Accounting Specialist
Jill holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Canadian History (No, that’s not a typo) from the University of Maine and a MBA from Ohio University. In a past life she held a CPA license but let it lapse during twenty years of child rearing. Having spent most of her work life in the not-for-profit sector, Jill arrived in Indianapolis from Chicagoland in September of 2008 to launch Mission to Ukraine’s US office in Carmel. She resigned in August of 2015 to spend more time with her aging mother. However, the opportunity to use her skills at NCF for a few hours each week in community with strong believers was answered prayer.

Jill has been so thankful that her work life has always flexed around raising her amazing daughters, Anna and Elizabeth. She loves her daughters and Anna’s husband, Jonathan, but absolutely adores her first grandchild, Cadence.

Jill attends Grace Church 146th Street campus. Mark and Jill are among the thousands of former Illinoisans who have moved to the land of lower taxes and they love Indiana. They share their home with Jill’s 92 year-old mother, a ginormous cat and a Miniature Pinscher, who’s not so miniature.

Susan Albers, Relationship Manager

Susan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering Technology from Purdue at Indianapolis. Following graduation she worked for nine years at Andersen Consulting first as a full-time systems consultant and then part-time in a human resources capacity. She left the business world to become the COO of the Albers family.

After serving in a women’s ministry leadership role for many years at her church, Zionsville Fellowship, Susan felt called to find a not-for-profit where she could volunteer her time, gifts and talents for God’s Kingdom purposes. Susan will always consider her Relationship Manager role at NCF Indiana as the job that found her.

Susan and her high school sweetheart, Greg, have lived in Zionsville, Indiana, nearly all their lives. They have been married for over 30 years and are blessed with two adult children, Hanson and Jane. They are also quite fond of their teacup Yorkie, Sugar.
